or, What You Will
by William Shakespeare
directed by Cynthia Meier

November 4–21, 2021
Video available November 23–December 12

Shipwrecked Viola makes her way in Illyria by disguising herself as a boy and serving the Duke Orsino. With mistaken identities and vivid characters, Twelfth Night is one of the most varied and delightful of all of Shakespeare’s plays.

Salesman-red-on-transparent_black.png

by Arthur Miller
directed by Matt Bowdren

January 6–23, 2022

Willy Loman, a classic American everyman, and perhaps the greatest tragic hero of the American Dream, struggles with the end of his career, the disappointments of his sons, and the burden of his own unacknowledged mediocrity.

Sponsored by Barbara Martinsons & Larry Boutis

by Christopher Chen
directed by Christopher Johnson

February 24–March 13, 2022

Described as “a fantasia inspired by E.M. Forster’s A Passage to India,” Chen has devised a very contemporary theatrical experience. We see, in the end, that there is little if anything that truly distinguishes the people who, through accidents of birth and geography, find themselves with vastly different circumstances of wealth, respect, and fulfillment.

Sponsored by Max McCauslin & John Smith

Dalloway-red-on-transparent_black.png

by Virginia Woolf, adapted to the stage by Cynthia Meier
directed by Cynthia Meier

April 28–May 15, 2022
Video available May 19–August 31

There she was. A day in the life of Clarissa Dalloway, wife of a member of Parliament, and lady of London's high society, as she prepares for a party that evening. And, in parallel, the same day for Septimus Warren Smith, a suffering war veteran. Written in Woolf’s stream-of-consciousness style, Mrs Dalloway takes an equal interest in things large and small, and Woolf follows her characters’ thoughts where they lead. It has been said that the novel was the first to split the atom in its elevation of the mundane to the meaningful. In public domain as of January 2021, Mrs Dalloway has seen a resurgence of interest recently, as pandemic life has seemed to make daily chores an adventure.

For those of you out of town or unable to attend the theatre in person, we will be creating professional videos of three of our plays: The Awakening, Twelfth Night, and Mrs Dalloway. A season ticket package of the three videos is available for purchase.
